CMN Hospitals also made a difference in the lives of young Gundersen Health System patients by underwriting innovative programs which might otherwise have gone unfunded. Some of these included the Pediatric Palliative Care Clinic, a program where specialists focus on the quality of life for children receiving treatment for chronic or life-limiting conditions; the pilot of LEAP, a weight management program for children; and a teddy bear clinic, that teaches kids about what to expect when they come to the hospital to combat any fears.
Supporting the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for Gundersen Health pediatric departments, raising awareness about the specialty care available here, and advancing cutting edge research will always be a major part of the work at CMN Hospitals. Yet the true mission is even broader: to provide hope and support to families throughout the Tri-state Region, and ensuring that the community’s generosity results in healthier, happier kids.
